Our Doggies Looking for a Foster Home
Daisy
Available
Female
01/09/2024
Daisy is as beautiful and gentle as her namesake flower. As a pup, Daisy was separated from her mom, abandoned, and left to fend for herself. These circumstances initially left Daisy fearful of humans and practically paralyzed with fear when brought into civilization. But with the love and patience of many SBAH volunteers, Daisy is blossoming!
Now Daisy trusts people more readily and eagerly greets her new human friends with little doggy kisses and a wriggling-with-excitement body. She is comfortable around other dogs as well, and would do well in a home with at least one other dog. The ideal home would be an apartment or a home with high garden walls (Daisy has springs for legs!). Daisy is now learning how fun it is to walk on a leash and to earn treats for her newly learned skills.
Daisy is just over one year old, weighing 12 kilograms. She is healthy, sterilized, chipped and vaccinated.
Sweet Daisy has learned that humans can be compassionate and encouraging. Would you like to show her how amazing a loving home can be?

Fostering a Doggie
Santa Barbara Animal Help does not have its own kennels, but that doesn't stop us from providing the best care possible for our furry friends. Prior to adoption, we rely on the help of kind-hearted fosters to care for the dogs or keep them in a Pet Hotel with really nice facilities.
Fostering is undoubtedly the better option, as the doggies get to live in a temporary home with people who care for them and prepare them for their forever homes, which gives them a better chance of adoption and success. Some doggies in our care are vulnerable, scared of people, or simply not used to living in a home. Living in a foster home with a person or family benefits them immensely. Even those that are not vulnerable will benefit greatly from such a stay, because regardless of the volunteers' involvement, shelters are shelters, and the dogs need constant love and care, as everyone else.
You may be wondering, "What's in it for me?" Well, if you cannot commit to adopting a dog for various reasons, fostering is a way to live with a dog temporarily while helping a beautiful being live a nice life before being re-homed.
At Santa Barbara Animal Help, we believe that every dog deserves a loving home. By fostering, you can make a difference in a dog's life and help them find their forever home. Join us in our mission to provide the best care possible for our furry friends.
Please, get in touch if you believe that you could foster one or more our doggies!
How Does Fostering Work?
Fosterer Gets in Touch
If you are interested in fostering any of the doggies below, please, contact us.
The First Meet-up
Similar to the adoption process, we do everything to match the dog with the right fosterer, Once we are contacted by a person interested in fostering, we organise a meet-up in order for both the potential fosterer and the doggie to see if they are a good fit.
Visit to the Potential New Home
We arrange a visit to the potential foster home to ensure that the circumstances are right.
Fostering the Doggie
Once the fosterer and SBAH agree that everything is fine, the fosterer will sign a fostering agreement and take the dog home. Some fosterers provide everything for the dog, while others cannot. In such cases, SBAH helps with the dog's living costs. And no, the fosterer is not left on their own! We are always in touch and available at any time to help if needed.
