- Every Little Helps to Save Doggies' Lives
We always say that we’d never be able to do what we do without big hearted people who help: the volunteers that give their time, money and hearts to run the show, people who foster, those that donate to pay the doggies’ bills, those that spread the word about us and help to find adopters, and the last but not the least, those that are there occasionally when we need and ask for help. Some will remember our cry for a dog house for 2 frightened dogs that our volunteers are trying to befriend and bring to safety. Firstly Iryna offered a ‘structure’, but needed someone with the van to bring it. Then Bart offered his van, but when he saw the ‘structure’, upgraded it to a more waterproof and comfortable house for the doggies and then with a friend delivered it to the field where the doggies stay mostly. This is what makes it all happen… We’ve never met Iryna and Bart in person beforehand, but they responded to our request on Facebook … So, through this story, we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who’s ever helped in any way you could … Literally, every little helps to save lives of so many doggies!

Rescuing dogs is a never ending story. In the last few weeks, we were so happy that Cammy, Molly and Papou found loving, forever homes. 3 of our phenomenal furry friends were finally going into happy lives. From the practical point of view, it was 3 less to look after and advertise, but also new space to help some others, because there are SO MANY out there that desperately need help. As these 3 were leaving, another trio came full of ticks, with a need for socialisation: a mum with an 8-month-old daughter and a 3-month-old son and as we were preparing to tell you stories about Sadie, Blondie and Jasper, a call came to help with the search for a home for two 10-month-old sisters, who’ve been fostered for a long time and have not found homes yet. So, you’ll also meet gorgeous Chloe and Zoe these days. Then a text came to help another rescue to advertise their mixed breed Podengo pups and there come Otis, Olly and Otilia on our pages … But still Mel, Layla and Scruffy are looking for the humans of their lives … the wonderful 3 souls that just don’t get interest, even though we do know that there must be people who’d fall in love at first sight with them, just our ads have not come their way yet. Rescue.Rehome.Repeat.Repeat.Repeat … It never stops ….Lots of work and time, pure volunteering, lots of money to cover for everything, from the vet bills to the roof above their heads, food, toys, marketing, digital platforms and apps …. all financed by private donations. It doesn’t matter the effort. It’s all worth it when we see our 4-legged friends adopted, safe and calm in their happy places, with humans of their lives. It’s all worth it for that hug, jump and wagging tail that says, ‘I know that you are there for me and I love you too.’ We must admit that it is emotionally difficult at times. Yes, we do cry sometimes, when we can’t find a forever home for them and keep returning these wonderful beings to the paddocks after days out or walks. Yes, we do cry of happiness when we see their lives changed to the good, better, best. But they do deserve this and much more, because none of their misfortune is their own fault. It is us people who are responsible for everything that happens on this planet, so we must do what we can to protect and help our 4-legged furry friends to be a part of the society that we created. Therefore, if you would like to volunteer occasionally or help with a donation, no help is too small: an hour a week, 10€ once in a while or giving your time to help managing the online world …. And, do not worry about the tears that I mentioned, because it's priceless to see a doggie's world change and help them start smiling for life 🐾.
