Meet Rosie-Mama — her babies are safe and now it’s her turn!

In early July, gorgeous 4- to 5-year-old Rosie gave birth to 13 beautiful puppies alone in a field, with no one to help her or give her food or water.

Somehow, she kept every one of her babies safe, healthy and fed until they were ready for their new lives. Her puppies have now flown the nest, with only little Tess — the last to be rescued — still waiting for her forever home.

And now, finally, it’s Rosie’s turn to shine!

Rosie is still underweight after giving everything she had to her babies, but we expect her to be approximately 38 kilograms once healthy. She’s a big, beautiful girl with the happiest smile — the kind that makes you wonder how anyone could ever have let her down.

She walks beautifully on a lead, though she knew little basic obedience after spending her life fending for herself. What Rosie does know is how to love. She bonds deeply with her people and wants to be as close as possible — preferably right on top of them, handing out kisses by the dozen! And there is no such thing as too much attention - this girl loves belly, rubs, back scratches, head rubs, full-body massage - the whole deal. Smart girl!

Rosie is occasionally still timid with new people. Sadly, some people in her recent past chased her away with sticks and hoses from the place where she had hidden her babies. But Rosie is learning that people can be kind and is slowly, beautifully coming out of her shell.

Rosie is learning quickly in her training classes, learning steadily and enjoying the attention and positivity of her trusted handler. She is non-reactive with other dogs on a lead, happily greets her kennel friends coming and going, and seems perfectly fine with cats.

For her entire life, Rosie has been surviving. Now she deserves to live.

We want her next chapter to include soft beds, full bowls, safe walks, belly rubs, kisses, and a family who will show her how loved she truly is. Rosie feeds off adoration and positive feedback, which has allowed her to gain confidence and blossom into the quality dog that she is.

If you’d like to meet this glorious girl and consider giving Rosie the home she deserves, we would absolutely love to hear from you.

If you can’t adopt Rosie, please SHARE her story.

After everything this wonderful mama has done for her babies, it’s Rosie’s turn to be someone’s baby.
